P.A.S.S. Forms and Information
P.A.S.S. General Instructions and Sign Off Sheet
You must be at least a First Class Scout to be tested on the P.A.S.S.
requirements. This document contains the general instructions for
P.A.S.S., the Proficiency Award for Scoutcraft Skills. It also contains
the more detailed sign-off sheet used to track a Scout's progress
towards P.A.S.S.
P.A.S.S. Skills Instruction Manual
This Acrobat document is a skills instruction manual for some of the
items tested in PASS. It does not cover the entire test. However, if
provides invaluable information for Scouts attempting to pass the tests
that it does cover. Must reading for all PASS candidates. (10 MB)

Knots
Here are a series of videos demonstrating how to tie the 6 knots
learned from Scout through First Class. They are demonstrated using the
method we have taught for many years and expect the Scouts to use for
PASS.
Whipping
- uses a large rope and large cord for whipping to make it
easier to see the process which should be done with whipping cord
appropriate for the diameter of the rope.
Tents - Alps Mountaineering
Here are a video with audio giving a demonstration and instructions for
setting up a Troop 497 Alps Mountaineering tent a second video on taking
it down and packing the tent.
