GENERAL INFORMATION
Troop 497 is excited to be going to June Norcross Webster Scout Reservation, Ashford, Connecticut for 2024 Summer Camp.Scouts and Leaders will depart by tour bus early morning on Friday July 19, 2024 and return Sunday July 28, 2024. Trip to Camp may include a tour of West Point, a deep-sea fishing trip and other fun activities. Camp Webster is located near Ashford, Connecticut in the heart of the Last Green Valley (National Park Service Heritage Corridor). Camp offers activities including shooting sports, water sports, basic Scout skills and a variety of other interesting merit badges. After Camp, our trip home will also include touring stops and a water activity.

MEDICAL AND INSURANCE FORMS - THESE MUST BE TURNED IN DURING A TROOP MEETING

Please make TWO COPIES of all of your required medical forms listed below and turn in as soon as you can, at least two weeks before we leave for camp. You can turn them into Andy Reidler or Kevin Shaffer at Troop meeting. For privacy reasons, DO NOT email your completed forms. Please call Andy Reidler at 443-280-4268 if you have any questions.
- An annual physical is required for Scouts and Adult Leaders
participating in events lasting 72 continuous hours and resident
campers. That includes everyone going to summer camp. WE
MUST USE THE MEDICAL FORMS PROVIDED BY THE CONNECTICUT RIVERS
COUNCIL THIS YEAR. THIS PDF FILE
INCLUDES PARTS A, B1, B2, AND C OF THE LATEST BSA MEDICAL
AND CONNECTICUT'S PART D.
- Parents complete Parts A, B1, B2 and D.
- Parts A, B1, B2, and C can be filled in using the form
capability in Adobe Acrobat or they can be printed and filled in
by hand.
- The Participant must sign on Part A.
- A parent must sign on Parts A, B2, and D.
- Your doctor performs the annual physical and completes and
signs Part C and B2.
- YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER MUST SIGN ON THESE FORMS.
- If your Scout has Special Health Care Needs or Disabilities then you need to complete Individual Plan of Care for a Child with Special Health Care Needs or Disabilities Form.
- A parent must sign this form.
- If your Scout needs to take any medications while at camp then you
must complete the Authorization for the
Administration of Medication by School, Child Care, and
Youth Camp Personnel Form for EACH medication.
- A separate form must be completed for each medication.
- A parent must sign sign this form in up two places.
- YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER MUST SIGN ON THIS FORM IN UP TO TWO PLACES.
- If your Scout may need treatment for allergic reactions and acute respiratory distress while at camp then you must complete the Emergency Treatment Plan For Allergic Reactions And Acute Respiratory Distress And The Permission To Administer Medications By Camp Personnel Form.
- A parent must sign this form.
- YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER MUST SIGN ON THIS FORM.
- Participant's insurance card, both sides, two copies.

PAYMENT INFORMATION
Cost for Summer Camp 2024 is $975 per Scout/ $675 per Leader including transportation (subject to change based upon bus costs and final activity itinerary).It is important that you confirm your trip participation commitment by making an initial $100 deposit and remaining current on our payment schedule. Deposits need to be received to register Scouts for their preferred merit badge programs.
