March 2026 - Horseshoe Scout Reservation, Rising Sun, MD
On 27-29 March we camped at Horseshoe Scout Reservation, Rising Sun, MD. We tented in the Campcraft Area and the Scouts cooked under the Goodman Pavilion. We also use the Trailblazers site for program. Everyone who camped both nights earned 10 Texas Tough Points.The low temperature dropped to 30°F on Saturday with a high near 50°F. Sunday morning was colder, 24°F.On Saturday morning the SPL split the 20 Scouts in attendance into two groups for competitive events including traversing a spider web and a fire building competition. After lunch we spent time on advancement and PASS. We then hike about 0.6 miles to new renovated suspension bridge and walked over to Camp Ware. Some Scouts and Adults played Frisbee Golf while other scouts play the kickball version of baseball.
