February 2026 - Venture Ski Trip, Seven Springs Mountain Resort in, Champion, PA
On 23-24 January 2026 we camped at Camp at Camp Spencer, Broad Creek, Whiteford, MD.The week before the camping trip the weather services were all calling for a major snow storm to start around 9 PM on Saturday. We didn't want to cancel the trip so we decided on Wednesday to shorten the trip to just Friday night and Saturday until after dinner. We stuck to the plan and had everyone back to the shed around 8:30 pm on Saturday. The snow started around 10 pm and snowed Saturday night and into Sunday. In the Cockeysville area it started as 6-8 inches of light snow. By Sunday morning it turned into sleet which accumulated to 2-4 inches. The overnight low was 8.1°F and it warmed only to 17°F on Saturday. The six adults who slept in unheated accommodations earned 24 Texas Tough Points for the weekend.
The Seniors arranged a mix of indoor and outdoor activities for the day including games, advancement, and rifle shooting.
