February 2026 - Rodney Scout Reservation, North East, MD
On 27 January - 1 March 2026 we camped at Camp at Rodney Scout Reservation, North East, MD. We stayed in Cabins Shawnee and Minsi and several adults tented. The eight adults who camped both nights and stayed in unheated accommodations earned 8 Texas Tough Points.The low temperature dropped to 25°F on Saturday with a high near 60°F. Sunday morning was warmer, 31°F.On Saturday morning some older scouts and adults taught the younger scouts how to make square, diagonal, tripod, and shear lashings. At the same time most of the older boys were practicing their lashing making various projects suing bamboo. After lunch we had some free time and time for advancement and PASS. Following that all the boys came together to lash a larger project out of bamboo and learned the importance of using triangle shapes in building project to prevent "racking".
