November 2025 - Backpacking from Harpers Ferry to Blackburn Campsite
On 7-9 November 2025 we camped at the Antietam Creek Campground on Friday night. On Saturday we split into groups for a long backpack and a shorter one. The shorter hike, around 6 miles, started at Keys Gap. The longer hike, about 13 miles, started at the Harpers Ferry National Park parking lot. Both hike ended the day at the Blackburn Trail Center campground. We hiked about about 1.5 miles on Sunday to a location along the road where the vehicles pick up everyone.Saturday started out very foggy. It mostly cleared by the time we started hiking and was cool and comfortable for hiking. Both groups had enjoyable hikes with very few issues along the way. After dinner the group walked up to the ridge to enjoy the view in the dark.
