February 2025 - Camp Snyder, Haymarket, VA
On 21-23 February 2025 we camped at Camp Snyder in Haymarket, VA. We stayed in two large heated bunk houses, Most Scouts and Adults slept in the bunk house. However, five adults braved the Saturday's 13°F and Sunday's 19°F low temperatures and earned 32 Texas Tough points for the weekend. Saturday started out overcast but cleared in the afternoon.One of the activities for the day was to build and use a rope bridge. This posed a challenge when we tried to drive stakes far enough into the ground - we couldn't, the ground was frozen too hard! One of the adults had the idea to tie the ropes to trailer hitches on cars and it worked out great.
