February 2024 - Rodney Scout Reservation, North East, Maryland

Our February 2024 camping trip was to Rodney Scout Reservation in North East, Maryland on the the 9-11 February. Saturday's program was split into 3 one-hour blocks in the morning and 3 more in the afternoon. Scout rotated through each activity which included PASS and Advancement, fire building, shotgun, archery, tomahawk throwing, and sling shots. There was also free time in the afternoon. After dinner there were two games on the parade grounds that involved glow sticks and later a song fest in Shawnee.

This was a cabin camping trip with troop cooking. We camped in two wood stove heated cabins: Shawnee and Minsi, with the majority of adults opting to camp in tents in the mild weather. The temperature only dipped to 37°F on Saturday morning and 43°F on Sunday morning. It was cloudy and warm (for February) most of the weekend with no substantial rain.
