April 2022 - Caledonia State Park, Fayetteville, PA
Our April camping trip was to Caledonia Sate Park in Fayetteville, PA.
This was our first camping trip where we met and returned to the Shed to
load and unload the trailers since the beginning of Covid-19. The Troop
took over all of the five group camping sites, however we camped in the
first three that were closest to the parking lot. The other areas were
used for the Pioneering program activities and the evening campfire.
The scouts split into two groups for the Pioneering program where the
younger scouts worked on lashing skills in the morning and built a table
in the afternoon. The older scouts built a camp gateway in the morning
and a bench in the afternoon. The evening campfire activity included an
energetic game where the adults and scouts challenged each other in
their knowledge of the TV shows from their respective youths. It was a
close competition with the adults eeking out a win in overtime.
The weather was great, with just enough rain in the morning to wet the
tent rain flys.
