May 2021 - Broad Creek Camp Oest
We camp at Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation, Camp Oest May 14-16, 2021. We had three wooded campsites. The weather was perfect for camping with nighttime temperatures in the mid 40s and highs in the 70s. This was a patrol cooking trip and the Scouts appeared to eat quite well. Two Scouts cooked their PASS meals on Saturday and the Scouts who ate those meals had quite the feast!The main activities for the weekend was a shelter/fort building competition followed by a game of capture the flag using the shelters/forts and a fire building competition. Parents transported their sons once again to the camp because of Covid-19 protocols and everyone wore mask throughout the weekend. Scouts were allowed to bring chairs so they could keep separated more easily and we had multiple campfires on Saturday instead of one big gathering.
