January 2018 - Camp Running Bear
We camped at Running Bear in January in unheated cabins. It was a cold
and windy weekend. We awoke Saturday morning to 32°F
and watched the thermometer drop to 18°F
when we climbed into our sleeping bags Saturday night. It dipped to 10°F
overnight earning 36 Texas Tough points for everyone who slept in
unheated shelters for both nights. Parents and
siblings joined us on Saturday for a "Are You Tougher Than a Boy Scout"
challenge and we all had a great time outdoors.
